| Q. | What is “CMYK / Black” or “4/1”?

| A. | CMYK is a color process that refers to the four inks (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key). CMYK process combines these 4 Colors in differing percentages to create a wide range of colors. Black refers to the ink used in different percentages to create a range of values ranging from light grey to black. In plainer terms, this color option allows any color (excluding metallic & neon colors) on the front of your cards and grayscale on the back.

| A. | We accept pretty much every file type like these (.Ai, .PSD, .PDF, .EPS, .TIFF, JPEG) but the easiest files to work with are the original art files, such as Illustrator or Photoshop files. For a more detailed explanation, please read our Artwork Submission Guide.

| Q. | How do I submit my design?

| A. | How you submit your files depends on your design option and the type of artwork it is. The simplest way to submit artwork is to email our art department at info@plasticprintsolutions.com. We accept pretty much every file type but the easiest files to work with are the original art files, such as Illustrator or Photoshop files. For a more detailed explanation, please read our Artwork Submission Guide. Once we have your files we can start the designing and proofing process.

| Q. | How does Instant Proofing work?
|
| A. | PPS®.com has the technology to proof your artwork instantly online to cut days out of the traditional ordering process. To ensure your artwork checks-out the first time around, be sure to meet these requirements: (please call 612.284.6820 if you have questions about artwork requirements)
- Make sure your final document/image/art board is created to the product’s Bleed Dimensions
- Submit your designs in two separate documents, one for the front, and another for the back.
- Artwork must be in CMYK color mode
- Resolution must be at least 300 dpi.
- Artwork must be submitted in .PDF /.TIFF / or .JPG format.

| Q. | What if I accidentally accepted a proof?
|
| A. | When you accept a proof, your order goes into production instantaneously. If you accidentally accepted a proof, please call 1.877.889.1969 and let us know as soon as possible so that we can make the correction before the wrong artwork gets printed.

| Q. | How many design versions can I have in my order?
|
| A. | An added benefit of choosing Plastic Print Solutions is that we do not charge a setup fee for single version orders. If you want to order multiple versions, we charge $35 per version after the first. The positive side is we will give you the pricing for the total quantity (which means lower “each price”).

| Q. | How does the PPS® Online Design Tool work?
|
| A. | Plastic Print Solution’s Online Design Tool works like a lot of image editing software on the market today, except the best part is that you don’t have to purchase expensive software to use it. The Online Design Tool allows you to add and edit all these elements: Text, Color, Geometric Shapes, etc… You can even upload images to use in your design. | Q. | Can PPS® make my card look like a credit card?
|
| A. | We can give your cards the effect of a credit card since the material we use is the same as your average gift card. Also, we can add a magnetic stripe (real or fake) to any card at no extra cost. If you are looking for raised numbering (also known as embossing) please call us at 1.877.889.1969 for pricing.

| Q. | Should I leave Crop & Bleed marks on artwork for submission?
|
| A. | The short answer is no, especially if you are submitting artwork through the PPS® Instant Proofing tool. Everything you see in your proof will be printed. So remember to remove the guidelines along with data placeholders like barcode, magstripe, etc… Data will be printed later in production.

| Q. | What if I don’t have any artwork?
|
| A. | Plastic Print Solutions is pioneering a unique solution in the gift card printing industry. We will not charge you a cent to design the products you order from us. Someone from our art department will work directly with you to create a design that’s tailored to your business. We’ll make revisions until the design is perfect. This process usually takes 1-2 revisions.

| Q. | What if I don’t have a logo?
|
| A. | If a logo is what you need, Plastic Print Solutions can provide one for you. Since we offer artwork assistance at no extra cost, we can include logo creation as part of this value added service.

| Q. | What is usually printed on the back of the card?
|
| A. | The back of a gift card is usually reserved for any sort of data tracking (magnetic strip, barcode, or sequential number), disclaimer text, and business contact information. If you need disclaimer text, all of our proofs come with an example. You can revise or add to it if you like.

| Q. | Can I put my logo on a product?
|

| A. | Please give our art department a call at 612.284.6820 and our experts will provide you with a proof that will straighten out any confusion.

| Q. | What if I can’t fax the proof approval form back?
|
| A. | If you do not have access to a fax machine, Plastic Print Solutions can accept proof approval confirmation by a copy or scanned version of the signed document. In some rare occasions, we can accept written approval through email.
